Preparing for your visit now that you’ve scheduled an abortion appointment |

Bring a robe and socks or slippers to wear during the procedure. A hospital gown can also be provided. |

Bring a small sample of your first morning urine the day of your visit. |

Avoid alcohol and street drugs for at least 48 hours prior to your visit. |

If you are having intravenous sedation, bring an escort with you to drive and accompany you home. You will not be able to drive yourself. |

Have NOTHING by mouth after 10 PM the evening before the procedure. This includes water, food, chewing gum, mints, and cigarettes. In the morning, you may brush your teeth, but do not swallow any water. |

Do not wear jewelry or bring valuables with you. |

Expect to be at the Center 3 to 4 hours. |

Bring your payment or the appropriate insurance information to your appointment. |
